Relationship Managers (Microfinance)

Preamble:

The Relationship Managers are the heartbeat of COMPANY. Their primary responsibility is business development through implementation of aggressive marketing strategies and plans to grow the sales, revenues and the overall loan portfolio of COMPANY.

Job Purpose:      

Responsible for Business Development and Sales, Customer Relationship Management, Customer Retention and Growth, revenue and portfolio growth in line with COMPANY’s strategy.

 Key Responsibilities’:

Marketing and Business Growth:

  • Develop, implement and coordinate an aggressive marketing Plan and provide weekly reports demonstrating implementation and results.
  • Grow the loan portfolio through client acquisition and retention of the existing clients.
  • Sales performance reporting and tracking – To prepare the sales reports including tracking of the new applications and potential sales and presenting the same to the Credit & Operations Manager on weekly basis.
  • Diversify the COMPANY Market Segments through effective marketing outreach in consultation with the Credit & Operation Manager.
  • Cross sell all COMPANY products to existing and new customers to ensure an even portfolio and utilization of the COMPANY products.

Debt Recovery and Client Management:

  • Client Relationship management – To track and follow up the clients continuously after the disbursements to ensure they keep up with the repayments terms of the facilities.
  • Monitor performance of NPLS and escalate the same to the recoveries team in line with the COMPANY policy.
  • Ensure strict compliance with the COMPANY’s Credit Policy and all other board Memos regarding debt management.

Customer Service:

  • Demonstrate high levels of customer awareness – their borrowing, repayments and saving habits. Understand their needs and challenges in order to use the knowledge for product development and refinement
  • Achieve agreed customer satisfaction levels.
  • Achieve agreed customer retention levels.
  • Achieve customer service standards.
  • Respond to customer complaints within the stipulated time lines.
  • Ensure all processes are up and running.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • A degree or Diploma in Business Management, Banking, Finance or other related field
  • Certified Credit Professional (CCP)/Diploma in Credit Management
  • 2-5 years experience in Finance/Lending sector from recognized financial institutions
  • Proven Sales management and performance record to pursue achieve sales targets
  • Proven comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape in the microfinance sector, opportunities for expansion, customers, markets, new industry developments and standards
  • Computer literate
  • Strong analytical and credit appraisal skills
  • Excellent communication skills

Location:  2 positions in Nairobi and 3 positions in Mombasa
